The forecasting problem

Available now does not mean available at 15:00.

Flexible capacity changes with weather, production, fleet arrivals, battery state, operator rules, and the recent behavior of the asset. A static capacity number cannot explain that movement.

Loadlume Forecast turns the live asset model into a time-bound view, with the uncertainty and operating reason kept beside every estimate.

Forecast scenarios keep flexibility, confidence, and operating protection in the same decision. They help teams discuss a window before it becomes a dispatch plan.

Forecast inputs

One horizon, built from signals with different clocks.

Each source keeps its timestamp, quality, and effect on the forecast. A delayed schedule should not look as current as live telemetry.

Operational context

A forecast should explain why it changed.

When outside temperature rises, a delivery arrives late, or an operator protects a production window, the forecast updates with the reason attached.

Forecast by asset

The same horizon. Different operating physics.

Every asset keeps its own drivers while the portfolio receives one consistent view of capacity, timing, confidence, and value.

Do not hide uncertainty behind one precise number.

Loadlume keeps the factors that strengthen or weaken an interval visible before the forecast moves toward dispatch.

Forecast FAQ

Questions before trusting a flexibility window.

Data sources, forecast horizon, and the required confidence level are agreed during the initial assessment.

How far ahead can Loadlume forecast?

Forecast horizons depend on the available operating signals and the decision being supported. The product is designed to make near-term dispatch windows and longer planning horizons distinct rather than presenting one confidence level for both.

Does Forecast predict electricity prices?

Market and tariff data can be used to rank operating windows, but the central job of Loadlume Forecast is to estimate credible asset availability. Any market-value estimate remains connected to its source assumptions.

How are operational constraints included?

Forecast reads the schedules, state, and limits maintained in Loadlume Assets. Constraint changes are reflected in the envelope and remain visible in the forecast history.

Can operators compare scenarios?

Yes. Teams can test protected, expected, and operator-approved operating margins before deciding which window should move toward dispatch preparation.

What happens when data quality drops?

The affected interval is marked, the confidence range widens, and the reason is shown. Loadlume should never hide uncertainty behind a single precise-looking number.
